Truck & Trailer Door Hardware: what to know
A door retainer holds an open door against the body so it can't swing while you load. They come in several arm lengths and finishes, from zinc-plated steel for general freight bodies to stainless steel for refrigerated vans and wash-down bodies.
Paddle locks and flush paddle handles suit toolboxes, canopies and side doors. For rear doors locked by vertical bars, see Door Gear.
Common questions
- Stainless steel or zinc-plated?
- Stainless steel (304) suits refrigerated, food and wash-down bodies, where corrosion is the main risk. Zinc-plated steel suits general freight bodies and costs less.
- How do I match a replacement part?
- Measure the old part (overall length, hole centres and arm length for retainers) and send the measurements with a photo to the counter. We'll match it before dispatch.
